Boaties along the Kaikoura coast over Waitangi weekend should expect to see the boys in blue out on the water.
The police launch, Lady Elizabeth IV will come down from Wellington for the weekend.
The boat will be part of a safety campaign lead by Maritime New Zealand, the police and Environment Canterbury to ensure boaties are aware of the guidelines.
