A New Zealander is believed to have been shot dead by a gunman riding a motorcycle in the Philippines.
Local media has reported the Kiwi died on the island of Biliran after he was shot on the street yesterday afternoon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has confirmed the New Zealand Embassy in Manila is in contact with Philippines authorities over the shooting.
"Due to privacy considerations we are unable to provide any further information," a spokesperson said.

The paper said three motorcycle gunmen shot and killed the Kiwi who was standing on the street when he was targeted.
The Mayor immediately offered a bounty to track down and arrest Rawlinson's killers.
After a manhunt across the island, two of the three allegedly involved in the shooting had been arrested.
