New Zealand chief executives are now among the most positive in the world.

A new PwC report shows most are confident about their own companies despite having doubts about the global outlook.

PwC's Bruce Hassall says we're bucking the international trend.

"Generally, CEOs in the global survey are more worried about growth and New Zealand CEOs are more positive about growth."

More than half of chief executives expect to cut costs in the year to come.

They are also seeing technological change as both a blessing and a curse.

More than half expect their company to enter new sectors in the next three years.

Bruce Hassall says there is a real sense of uncertainty and excitement.

"They see that as a threat in one sense but they also understand that a whole lot of opportunities can flow from that."

Bruce Hassall says no company will be immune from technological changes or skills shortages.
