Police are urging the man wanted in relation to a shooting in Wellington to hand himself in.
Police are still searching for a potentially armed 26-year-old man, alleged to have shot a Wellington taxi driver and believe he is still in the capital.
Police have been in contact with Dylan Nuku's family members, who are working with police to find him, Detective Sergeant Warwick McKee told reporters on Tuesday.
People are warned not to approach Nuku as police understand he may be armed. Any sightings of him should be reported to police.
The weapon used in Saturday night's incident in Miramar has been identified as a small-caliber pistol.
The victim who was shot in the right shoulder is now recovering at home, following treatment at Wellington hospital for moderate injuries.
Police could not say when the last time there was a shooting in Miramar but Det Sgt McKee said it was a "rare incident".
He was incredibly concerned that the offender was carrying a weapon on Courtney Place.
"He's in a high density populated area of people who are out socialising on a Saturday night and in possession of a weapon, so that is very concerning."
