The Prime Minister disagrees with the UK Government's decision to levy a health surcharge on migrants and some visitors from New Zealand.
New Zealanders and Australians who plan to spend more than six months in the UK will now be charged a $400 surcharge to cover healthcare.
That's despite the UK having a reciprocal agreement with New Zealand to provide urgent treatment free of charge.
John Key said the decision goes against New Zealand's bond with Britain.
"We've had this relationship based on the history of our country and New Zealand being a British colony, [it's] pretty cheap and not really in keeping with the history of the two countries."
