Plans to modernise and improve the country's tax system are underway.
Revenue Minister Todd McClay's launched public consultation measures on the matter today saying a simpler system is a better system.
Under consideration are changes to the way the tax system's administered.
Also in the mix is allowing IRD more use of electronic and online services.
