All sorts of people from politicians to school kids and members of the defence and police forces will be wearing pink today.
The annual anti-bullying initiative Pink Shirt Day is expected to have its biggest uptake in New Zealand yet.
The initiative began in Canada when a boy was bullied for wearing pink to school.
A couple of older students took a stand by buying a pile of pink shirts and getting other students to wear them, to show the youngster he had their support.
The Mental Health Foundation here in New Zealand says gay, bisexual and transgender youth are disproportionately affected by bullying, and it's not acceptable.
It says by wearing pink today, people are standing together against bullying and celebrating difference.
