A paraglider has died after crashing on the grounds of Queenstown Primary School, St John Ambulance confirm.
Emergency services are attending the scene, with St John say the paraglider was already dead when paramedics arrived at the scene.Â
The accident occurred just after 10am on Robins Road.
GForce Paragliding - which operates near the Skyline gondola in Queenstown - says the death had nothing to do with its company.
There are a number of witnesses to the accident, including people setting up for a night noodle market this evening.
A spokeswoman is describing the person who died as a recreational pilot.
The Civil Aviation Authority has been called in.
