Thousands of dollars have been raised for the family of fallen helicopter pilot Steve Askin.
Mr Askin's family has had $170,000 pledged on Givealittle to support them after he died fighting the Port Hills fires.
The father of two's funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon in Christchurch, almost a week after his helicopter went down near the Sugarloaf.
Mr Askin's wife Elizabeth said she's still in shock, but the outpouring of gratitude and support has been overwhelming.
The family said his former colleagues from the SAS will carry his coffin for the funeral at the Wigram Air Base.
