South America is expected to be the fastest growing travel market for New Zealanders next year.

House of Travel's Brent Thomas says interest in South America has steadily increased since the opening of the new direct route to Buenos Aires last month.

He's predicting around 50 percent growth in the market next year.

Brent Thomas says while it's always been quite popular with backpacking travellers and young couples, he expects a much broader range of New Zealanders to visit now it's become much more accessible.
