Two men accused of murdering Christchurch man Bradley Lomax have been verbally abused at their first court appearance.
The pair, one whose name has been suppressed, appeared in Christchurch District Court.
Kasha William Gosset, 35, did not apply for name suppression.
Family and friends of father-of-one Mr Lomax were in court and one of the accused looked towards them with a smile on his face when he entered.
They responded with verbal abuse, which prompted police to remove them from the court.
The two men were remanded in custody and will next appear in the High Court on September 29.
The body of Mr Lomax, 24, was found in the Waimakariri River bed in North Canterbury, last week, prompting a homicide investigation. The two men were arrested and charged on Tuesday.
