Maori Television is denying reports it's planning to move head offices from Auckland to Rotorua.

CEO Paora Maxwell says there's been no decision made to move anywhere, but says they are scoping possible locations, as their lease on the Newmarket headquarters comes up for review in 2017.

He says they have talked to the Rotorua District Council, but they've also spoken to officials in Hamilton, and the Auckland Council's Independent Maori Statutory Board.

Mr Maxwell says they're still looking at a wide range of options, and haven't made any location recommendations to the board.
