It's the last chance for Aucklanders to have their say on Easter Trading as submissions close today.
Feedback from Aucklanders will inform whether the council leaves the status quo or develops a policy on Easter Sunday trading. If a policy is developed, it will go out for public consultation later in the year.
Auckland Council will decide whether to allow all shops to open on Easter Sunday, after law changes left it up to Councils to decide.
Currently only food outlets, service stations and pharmacies can operate on Easter Sunday.
Retail NZ spokesperson, Greg Harford, said all Auckland retailers should be allowed to stay open.
"There's an opportunity for businesses to serve customers over Easter Sunday and potentially a great opportunity for customers to meet their shopping needs," he explained.
Mr Harford emphasised that employees need not panic should the changes to Auckland's Easter trading rules be approved.
"There's absolutely no obligation on shop employees to work," he said.
"There's specific protections built into the legislation which mean that you can't be forced to work."
