It appears the European Union's been passing on information to our Government about the actions of foreign fighters.

Earlier this month the Prime Minister ordered a review of current laws indicating urgent law changes are necessary in relation to the Iraq-Syria conflict.

The EU's New Zealand delegation Charge d'Affaires Michalis Rokas says foreign fighters are a big issue and it's something the EU has contact with New Zealand about.

He indicates alerts are passed on when something is identified.

"You know it's based on intelligence and obviously we are asking for support."
