Kapiti's Mayor is expected to be called as a witness in the case of a councillor accused of indecent assault.
David Scott appeared in the Porirua District Court today, accused of pressing himself against a female colleague while she was talking to the Mayor at a meeting in April.
Melissa Nightingale was in court where it emerged the Mayor K Gurunathan will act as a witness against Scott.
"There is a non-association order with the mayor, but again he is allowed to contact and discuss business but he's not allowed to discuss the case of him or any of the other witnesses, and there is a non-association order with the complainant as well."
David Scott has also been ordered to stay away from the council buildings.
He's due back in court next month.
