UPDATED 3.22pm: Police have been investigating the death of a 50-year-old woman in Hamilton since Monday night, and now want help from the public.

Raewyn Green died in Waikato Hospital on Thursday morning, after spending three days in critical condition.

A post-mortem has found she had sustained injuries consistent with an assault.

Detective Sergeant William Loughrin said a scene examination's been completed, and now they're appealing for help working out what happened.

"We've spoken to a number of the victims associates and we also want to appeal to the public for information about any sightings of a male or female arguing in and around the Pinfold Avenue area on Monday afternoon and evening."
