UPDATED 12.08pm Helen Clark has been revealing some of the main problems she's expecting, if she becomes top dog at the United Nations.
The former Prime Minister is using social media to help campaign for the Secretary General's role.
In a live feed from the UN this morning she's explained global development, security issues and the migrant crises are at the top of her list.
"That's where I think the world's struggling today. So many conflicts, so many people fleeing from their homes. 65 million we're told now, forcibly displaced from their homes. People leaving with only what they stand up in."
Ms Clark said the global economy has seen much slower growth for some time now and it's now impacting the UN Development program.
She said the main funders are developed countries, and even they're struggling to donate as much as what's previously been given.
In addition she said conflicts around the world are draining funding away from development and into meeting the catastrophic emergency needs of those countries.
