A $1.4 million shared cycle-walkway is on the cards for Hamilton.

The New Zealand Transport Agency plans to build the shared pathway alongside Kahikatea Drive and Greenwood Street.

The three kilometre-long, three-metre-wide path will run from Kilarney Road to Ohaupo Road by State Highway One.

Work on the project will start in November and the pathway is expected to be finished by the end of March.
