Waikato Police say a prominent Mongrel Mob gang member wanted for kidnapping and aggravated robbery was found with a loaded gun when he was arrested this morning.
Members of the Rotorua, Auckland and Waikato Armed Offenders Squad arrested the 44-year-old alleged president of the Mongrel Mob's Rogue chapter at a rural property in the Kaimai Ranges.
District Crime Manager Detective Karl Thornton says the public and anonymous tip offs played an important part in the arrest.
The 44-year old will appear in the Hamilton District Court today.
