A new YouTube video's been launched in a bid to raise money for bronze Hairy Maclary tribute sculptures destined for Tauranga's waterfront.

Creative Tauranga needs to raise an extra $90,000 to complete the project and get the sculptures installed.

The video is hosted by TV personality Jackie Clarke and features footage of the sculptures and the dogs who helped create them.

Creative Tauranga CEO Tracey Rudduck-Gudsell say they've been working on the project for the past six years.

"So Hairy Maclary and eight of his best and closest friends, we're sort of at the final stage of fundraising to get them on the waterfront and we just wanted the people of New Zealand to get behind it."
