The discovery of two more fruit flies has come as no surprise to fruit exporters.
Two more male Queensland fruit flies have been in the Grey Lynn containment zone, has brought the total to seven.
Peter Silcock of Horticulture New Zealand says they expect more to be found.
"We'd prefer not to be finding more, but the important thing is if they're there, we're finding them and also that these are within a very confined area."
Silcock says exporters and their customers are satisfied the flies are being contained and trapped.
"MPI is providing assistance to our trading partners. We've also got to make sure exporters have information."
