A coroner hopes the death of a Rakaia man will act as further proof that alcohol and quad bikes don't mix.
Andrew Baxter, aged in his mid-40s, died almost two years ago when a heavy duty nylon strap got in the way of his left front wheel, causing it to lock up.
He'd consumed well-over two times the then-legal speed limit.
Coroner Richard McElrea found while Mr. Baxter's drinking didn't cause the crash, it did slow his reaction time.
Andrew Baxter wasn't wearing a safety helmet at the time of his death.
