Kim Dotcom's bid to avoid extradition to the US to face copyright charges will be heard in August.

The case was called before the High Court at Auckland this morning where Justice Raynor Asher set the date of August 29 for the appeal hearing.

The internet mogul and his three co-accused were deemed eligible for extradition by Judge Nevin Dawson before Christmas but they immediately appealed that ruling.

Justice Asher has allocated eight weeks for the appeal.
