Reform is underway in the health sector to overturn the high number of junior doctors being sexually harassed and bullied in the workplace.
A survey done by the New Zealand Resident Doctors Association reveals 600 members witnessed or experienced inappropriate behaviour in the last two years.
70 percent came from more senior doctors.
Association National Secretary Deborah Powell said there's a perception that making a complaint will have negative consequences for a complaint's career.
She said addressing bulling and harassment will take a whole profession approach.
However, its not just junior doctors facing rampant bullying and sexual harassment in the medical profession.
The New Zealand Nurses Organisation spokeswoman Hilary Graham-Smith says nurses cop a lot of it too.
"We see quite a bit of it.. certainly members come to us as a consequence of being repeatedly bullied in the workplace. "
She said the health sector has the largest workforce in the country and bullying is a top concern.
