A sigh of relief for Mangere residents, with Corrections confirming it has moved a sex offender out of their neighbourhood.
Community anger almost boiled over after the serious sexual and violent offender was placed in a home opposite a school, and then moved down the road from another school.
Corrections spokesperson Lynette Cave said the offender was moved out of Mangere yesterday - she would not say where to.
Corrections had sought a Public Protection Order which would see the man living at a secure facility on prison grounds.
But the High Court issued a seven-year Extended Supervision Order.
As well as electronic monitoring he is monitored by two staff at all times.
