Updated 12.21pm: Convicted double murderer Scott Watson looks set to break his silence.
Corrections has now approved an application from North and South journalist Mike White to interview Watson in prison.
Watson is serving a 17 year jail sentence for the murders of Ben Smart and Olivia Hope in the Marlborough Sounds on New Years Day in 1998.
He'd sought a judicial review after the CEO of Corrections stopped him meeting with the journalist.
Judge Dunningham quashed Corrections decision and ordered it be reconsidered, saying there was no rational basis for declining a face to face interview between Watson and Mr White.
Deputy chief executive of corporate services, Vincent Arbuckle, says the interview will be subject to certain conditions.
