The Leader of the Opposition wants former Green Party Co-Leader Metiria Turei to be recognised for what she has achieved while in Parliament.
Ms Turei's fall has evoked a strong response among her supporters with them levelling fierce criticism against the media, and also those in her own party, who challenged her welfare story.
Labour Leader Jacinda Ardern said during her nine years in Parliament she has seen MPs leave in tough circumstances.
What she is hoping for all of them is that there is time and reflection given to the contributions they have made to parliament.
Ms Ardern said Metiria Turei gave 15 years and that needs to be acknowledged
