A four-year-old boy has been airlifted to Waikato Hospital after being hit by a car in Waihi Beach.
The Tauranga based TECT rescue helicopter was sent to the area around four this afternoon.
They say the boy was struck by the car and thrown several metres.
He has serious head injuries as a result.
