A body has been found in a stream in Fordlands, Rotorua.

The area around Harold Cres has been cordoned off for a scene examination.

A police investigation is underway, Bay of Plenty Police communications manager Kim Perks said.

The body was found about 11.30am.

 

Police said the circumstances of the death were unknown at this stage.

They have urged anyone with information to call Rotorua police on 07 348 0099. Information can also be provided anonymously to the Crimestoppers organisation on 0800 555 111.
