The Civil Aviation Authority has lifted a ban on Robinson R44 helicopters with a certain modification.

The ban was put in place after after two people died in a crash near Queenstown.

It was in-place for all R44's fitted with a 'Dash 7' Main Rotor Blade.

CAA Director, Graeme Harris says they've reviewed the blade from the helicopter in question and it seems it was damaged during the accident, rather than being the cause of the accident.
