Auckland Nines organisers believe the city is starting to embrace the annual sporting event.
Police say they're generally happy with the behaviour of fans.
Duco Events chief Martin Snedden says Aucklanders are accepting the Nines as an event that's less about drinking and more about league.
"I think what we're going to see is just the outside of stadia embracement by the city just grow year on year."
Auckland's license to hold the event lasts for just three more years.
Meanwhile, Snedden says Sevens organisers do a great job, and he only has one piece of advice for them.
"The most important thing out of all of this is the quality of what happens on the field is what ensures the longevity of an event."
Low ticket sales could mean a few empty seats at this year's Sevens.
