Disability advocates fear they may have lost the battle against job cuts at Auckland Council.
Two disability advisory roles and about 21 other community development roles are being disestablished at the end of next month.
The restructure will save costs, and allow local boards to outsource some services to community groups.
But Save the Auckland Council Disability Advisers spokeswoman Nicola Owen says disabled ratepayers will go without representation.
"They've said they think it's going to be an enhanced model, we can't see how cutting two fulltime positions is going to help."
"We've already gone from four to two advisers in the last restructure, and so to lose again just feels like a real kick in the guts."
