Tomorrow's historic match in Apia may be the closest the All Blacks have ever come to a home game on foreign soil.

It will be the first time Manu Samoa have played All Blacks in their home country and many Samoans are expected to have split loyalties.

New Zealand Herald rugby writer Patrick McKendry said locals are flying flags for their national team, but he said the the All Blacks will be surprised by how much support they receive.

"It'll be unprecedented, it would be fair to say, to see the support they're receiving coming into another country for a test."

The All Blacks have a busy day ahead in Apia before tomorrow's test.

Patrick McKendry said both sides will participate in a parade through the capital at midday. Some of the ABs will also be involved in a school skills session.

"There's a captain's run as well, which will be the only time the All Blacks will have had a run on Apia Park before the big match."

One News reporter Emma Keeling said after that, the players will probably call an early night.

"It is really hot in Samoa, and they'll probably need a little bit of a rest and a lot of water."

Meanwhile, Manu Samoa blue is the colour of choice for local rugby fans.

Villages have put up flags and banners in support of the home side, and Manu Samoa merchandise is also selling fast in Apia.

Emma Keeling said people are as keen to see Manu Samoa as they are to see the boys in black.

"I think spoke to a tourist who turned up and managed to get a ticket and couldn't believe this luck," she said.

"He was really keen to see Manu Samoa because he could see the All Blacks any old time."
