UPDATED: 5.22PM ACC is going to sponsor Television New Zealand coverage of the 2016 Paralympic Games.
Through ACC and New Zealand On Air, 180 hours of dedicated coverage will be available free-to-air.
ACC Minister Nikki Kaye said it's about inspiring people living with a disability or those recovering from a serious accident.
She said New Zealand paralympians have made a major contribution to changing public perceptions of disability and have shown that with determination, you can achieve great things.
Head of Injury Prevention Emma Powell said ACC's been working on the idea since late last year and says it's the first partnership of its kind.
"We wanted to get on board to make sure everybody got to see them at their prime and performing in Rio. Most of all for us [it's] about how we act to inspire all New Zealand, including those living with a disability".
The coverage will be made available on TVNZ’s DUKE channel, One News, and on demand plus repeated highlights during the evenings on TV1.
The games begin on September 7th.
