An 11-year-old boy has crashed his parents' car into a truck while trying to flee south Auckland police.

An officer spotted the child driving at speed in Pukekohe this afternoon. He attempted to follow but was unable to catch up.

The child passed a second police car which began following with its sirens on.

Shortly afterwards, the boy crashed into the side of a truck at a roundabout.

Nobody was hurt and the police have referred the boy to both Youth Aid and Child Youth and Family.
