The Queenstown Lakes District Council is taking action against one person after two dogs attacked a child last month.

The attack on the three-year-old occurred outside a property in Herries Lane in Lake Hayes Estate.

The first charge alleges that the person was in charge of the two dogs which attacked a child, while the second alleges the person failed to control the dogs.

Both charges come with a maximum fine of $3000.
