An infectious diseases expert believes we are prepared for a case of Ebola, should it ever come to that.
The Herald On Sunday has a nine-page report into the two suspected Ebola cases earlier in the year.
The report says health staff don't have adequate protective or transport equipment, or proper training in the area, to deal with a situation where one tested positive for the disease.
But Auckland University's Dr Mark Thomas believes we do have these things.
He said our health system is well prepared for individual cases of Ebola, if that were to occur in New Zealand.
Dr Thomas said the concerns aren't really justified.
He said there's adequate protective and transport equipment in the country now to cope with the very small number of patients that would be expected.
