NZME. Radio took out 22 gongs at the New Zealand Radio Awards last night.

Newstalk ZB's breakfast host, Mike Hosking, took out the most prestigious award - the Sir Paul Holmes Broadcaster of the Year.

He was also named best Talk Presenter.

Morning talkback host Leighton Smith took home Best Talkback Presenter and was honoured for his outstanding contribution to radio.

Radio Sport and NewstalkZB Host Tony Veitch was named Best Sports Presenter/Commentator.
