The winner of this years Silver Scroll says it all feels likes some bizarre dream.

Canadian born Tami Neilson, and her brother Joshua Neilson, took out the 2014 Silver Scroll Award in Wellington last night for their song 'Walk (Back To Your Arms)'.

The soulful, retro-flavoured blues ballad beat out four other finalists.

Tami Neilson says she's delighted.

"I'm just absolutely thrilled.

"To be chosen by your peers who are songwriters and amazing songwriters at that, to be awarded this is absolutely overwhelming. I still feel like I'm dreaming."

The night also saw Lorde and her producer Joel Little pick up two awards for their songs 'Team' and 'Royals'.
