Pink has confirmed she'll play a record-breaking fifth show in Auckland when she tours here in September.

The American pop star, known for hits like Let's Get This Party Started, today added another show on September 10 to her Spark Arena run.

Pink will perform in the 12,000-seat venue five times: on September 4, 5, 7, 8 and 10.

She will also perform at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr Stadium on September 1, and is performing 35 dates across Australia, taking her past two million Australasian ticket sales.

Pink's five-night Auckland stand breaks the record held by Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Roger Waters, who have all played four nights in the central city venue.

Her tour adds to a bumber year for pop fans, with visits by Kendrick Lamar, Katy Perry, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift all planned before the end of the year.

Tickets for Pink's new Auckland show go on sale at 2pm on May 9. A pre-sale begins on May 7.

Pink will be playing on the back of her most recent album Beautiful Trauma.

All New Zealand shows will feature an opening performance by The Rubens.
