TV host Jon Stewart will be replaced by South African born comedian Trevor Noah.
He recently joined the Comedy Central show as a contributor, but will move behind the fake-news desk at the end of the year.
The New York Times describes the move as a huge and unexpected promotion for Noah.
He's also appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman.
