An American judge has shot down an attempt by singers Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams to have a plagiarism claim for their song Blurred Lines thrown out.
Marvin Gaye's estate is taking legal action, alleging the pair's hit song "Blurred Lines" copied elements of Gaye's 1976 song "Got To Give It Up".
Judge John Kronstadt rejected the motion by Thicke and Williams to have the claim thrown out, meaning the matter will go to trial next February.
