For some, the weekend's most significant event came last night: Coronation Street's two-hour catch-up episode on TVNZ One.

It was 18 months' worth of episodes packed into a one night, movie-length event which puts us just one week behind the UK.

TV reviewer Tara Ward says it was a "best-of" package which covered a lot of ground and managed to fit almost everything in.

"There were some real heavy storylines that they were able to give a bit more time and depth to. They didn't cover the lighter stuff so they could give a bit more depth to the heavier storylines."

Coronation Street's up to date episodes begin tonight at 9:25.
