Being mocked by John Oliver might bolster 'tourism and trade' - English

The Prime Minister is laughing off being on the receiving end of another comedic attack.

US-based comedian John Oliver has taken another swipe at New Zealand on his late night show Last Week Tonight.

This time, he's targeting Bill English over his 'walk-run' video and his infamous spaghetti pizza.

Riffing on the lyrics to Eminem's song 'Lose Yourself', the song at the centre of a copyright case between the New Zealand National Party and the US rapper, Mr Oliver said he "would honestly rather eat Eminem's vomit spaghetti off his sweater than canned spaghetti and pineapple off one of [Bill English's] garbage pizzas."

Mr English, who's previously called Mr Oliver "not very funny," says he's not at all concerned about the latest ribbing.

"I'm not at all concerned about it. It may assist New Zealand's international profile and help tourism and trade."

John Oliver has targeted New Zealand politics a number of times on his show, including mocking former Prime Minister John Key over the flag referendum, and Steven Joyce after he was hit in the face with a dildo by a TPP protester.
