Auckland Police are investigating an aggravated robbery where two people were attacked with a baseball bat and crowbar this morning.

A group of seven entered a dairy on Melrose Road in Mt Roskill just after seven o'clock.

They assaulted two shop assistants, and fled with cash and cigarettes.

Both victims were treated by ambulance staff at the scene, before being taken to hospital.

One of the victims remains in a serious condition.
