UPDATED 1.09pm: Two people have been injured after a paraglider crashed near Queenstown this morning.

Police were alerted to the incident at Speargrass Flat at around 11 o'clock, while a rescue helicopter and other emergency services are at the scene.

Two people are being pulled from the wreckage, one with moderate injuries and one with minor injuries.

It is understood the people involved are a tourist and a guide from a commercial paragliding and hang-gliding company based in Queenstown.
