The search for the 18-year-old missing off the coast of New Plymouth has moved into a recovery phase.

The teenager went missing after his boat capsized while he checked crayfish pots on Monday morning.

Police, the rescue helicopter and the Coastguard have been searching for the man ever since, still hoping for a positive outcome.

However, today Police have confirmed they do not expect to find him alive, but a limited search will continue.
