UPDATED 3.46pm: Three children have been rescued after the car they were in got trapped in floodwaters on the Coromandel Peninsula.
Firefighters were called to Hikuai Settlement Road in Pauanui and towed the car out of the flood water a short time ago.
Emergency services are rushed to the scene.Â
The Fire Service said the children, aged 9, 10 and 11 are all safe and well.
