Police have released the names of two boys who were killed in a crash when the car they were in rolled on State Highway Two at Pukehina in the Bay of Plenty yesterday morning.

They were 16-year-old Chance Whittaker-Ngaropo, the driver, and 12-year-old Te Hira Whittaker-Ngaropo from Auckland.

They were two of the three people in the car - with the person in the front passenger seat left uninjured.

The police serious crash unit is still investigating the incident.
