The body of a man missing in Lake Rotoiti has been found a week after he went missing.

Colin McCormick jumped off his boat to get a hat last Wednesday.

The 48-year-old's body was recovered by search and rescue volunteers shortly before 7am this morning.

The Auckland man's presumed drowned after he jumped off his boat to retrieve a hat last Wednesday afternoon.

His partner and 9-year-old son were on the boat.
